After School Program

We look forward to welcoming incoming 5th graders for the first time this school year! We at Youth & Family Services After School Program want to make this transition a memorable one.

If you’re the parent of a upper elementary school or middle school student between the ages of 10 – 15, the Youth Center is the perfect place for your kids to enjoy a safe, fun, and well-supervised environment after school till 5:30 PM. The program is still free after paying for a $35.00 Youth Member Photo ID card and is open to all Farmington/Farmington Hills residents.
Our partnership with the Farmington Public Schools enables Youth Center Members to take a bus from their upper elementary school or middle school to the Youth Center of their choice. (Click on “Bus Schedule” and “Contact Numbers” above).

“My home away from home” is what one middle school youth called the After School Program. Over 7,000 kids have participated in this program for over thirteen years. Our members participate in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, pool table, ping-pong, board games, Girl Power, ice skating, tutoring and much more. Members also help create and implement new programs developing their leadership skills.

The After School Program is off to a great start!
We are going into our 14th year and look forward to welcoming back last years Youth Members and showing the new ones around to see all the great things to do at their Center. It’s never too late to sign up to become a Youth Member. You can get a lime-green membership form at the Costick Center, any of our Youth Centers or at your child’s upper elementary school or middle school.
Below are some answers to questions we have received – call anytime, our staff is more than happy to assure you that your kids are at the right Youth Center, safe and having a good time.

Costick Youth Center -Please pick your son/daughter up at “C” Door, located on the East side of the Costick Center. They can use their Photo ID card to swipe out and leave with you. From 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm we will have staff outside to radio inside for your child to come out. After 5:30 pm Youth Members are now in late care, please come in to get your child. At this time we ask that you pay $5.00 for each 15 minutes that you are late. Tutoring is on Mondays & Wednesdays from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Cost is $5.00 per hour, ask your site supervisor for more information. Swimming is on Mondays & Wednesdays from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. (Girls, please wear one piece bathing suits). There is no cost to swim.

POP Youth Center - Warner Upper Elementary School Youth Members can hop on our newly decorated bus directly to the POP Center on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, or take a Farmington Public School bus to the Costick Center on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Ice Arena Youth Center –Ice skating is free! Days to skate will be announced as soon as the schedule is made. From 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm we will have staff outside to radio inside for your child to come out. After 5:30 pm Youth Members are now in late care, please come in to get your child. At this time, we ask that you pay $5.00 for each 15 minutes that you are late.
